awareness, you increase
control over how
you respond to the
world and the events
around you. As a
result, you acquire
the ability to recognize
many forms of stress
and to make changes
that will prevent
the development of
psychosomatic illness
such as high blood
pressure, heart disease,
asthma and diabetes.
The
word yoga derives
its meaning from
the Sanst word "yug",
meaning yoke, to
unite, or to bring
together. Besides
providing a system
for achieving union
and healing with
others and a higher
force, we are also
given the tools to
heal our own body,
mind, and spirit. |
